Our recycled green bags are handmade by a dedicated team located at the northern part of Sumatra Island in Indonesia.
We collect used materials available in and around the village, and recycle them into beautiful practical handbags, clutches and travel bags for everyday use.
Our unique environmental friendly products and a working force of uneducated village women have created income opportunities for a disadvantaged community.
We use bottle tops, cans, fashion magazines, rice sacks, dried leaves & flowers, motorcycle tires, inner tubes and more.
In support of the upcoming holiday – Valentine’s Day – and Big Love Little Hearts Foundation, The Fashion Journal and Beauty and the Bottle are hosting a charity shopping event to raise money for Big Love and to share a toast to love and happiness this season.
The event will be held at the Red Canary Lounge on Milwaukee –www.theredcanarychicago.com – Wednesday, February 10th from 6-9pm. The first 100 guests will receive goody bags and there is a $10 suggested donation at the door, (which will go to Big Love.) Mary Kay will also be providing FREE make up and facial trials.

You’ll be able to bid on products such as handbags, Parisian perfume, gift certificates to Connect Chicago and more, with all proceeds going directly to Big Love Little Hearts Foundation.

Hiromi is originally from Japan and trained in the Big Apple’s Fashion Institute of Technology where she created her collection of feminine straight line dresses with oodles of detail. Getting it right takes time and commitment something emerging designer Richard Brown knows firsthand it took him 12 years to launch his chemical-free eco-fashion line. There’s an old saying that states, ‘anything worth doing is worth doing right’ something Richard took literally. Emerging fashion label Itsus is raising the bar in the eco-fashion space, his line is eco-friendly in every detail. There are many fashion lines that are tagged eco-friendly but now having heard Richard Brown’s fashion line’s story we are asking what makes eco, well eco. We like plaid and we’re not ashamed to say so especially on men. Plaid may have received a bad break in years past but we simply disagree. Plaid is hot, chic and oh so sexy. Emerging designers Palle Bruun Rasmussen and Michelle Larsen, Denmark’s dynamic duo, are breathing new life into plaid menswear among other things. Revolution, their emerging fashionbrand, is committed to sportswear with a strong graphic attitude that continues to develop bit by bit. What makes a good bag? We have seen our share of bags and not all of them are what we would call a ‘good bag’. Keeping in mind that ‘good’ is in the eye of the beholder. That being said, here are a few characteristics that we find that are consistent in ‘good bags’. Construction that is built to last and not just from the store to your home but for years and years – they must wear well. Classic construction, say what you want to say but things used to last, and minimal details don’t go out of style so quickly and can stand the test of time. No waste is her handbag policy. We don’t care how well the bag is constructed, it if doesn’t have visual appeal all bets are off. First and foremost a ‘good bag’ must catch your eye so that you want to explore the other features, such as construction, design, functionality and practicality. There are design details at every turn, from the exposed over-sized stitching, hand-cut leather, braided double handle, exterior pockets on both ends, signature silk lining and the quaint handcrafted hardware selection. We still have not seen the last of animal prints and we’re delighted because animal prints made our top 10 ‘must haves’ list for 2009. When we saw this line we looked at each other and at the same time said, “Why did it take so long”? in perfect harmony. The coats have a glamorous sophistication all their own that we have not seen in this niche market. They are showing in London and Milan in the European market where riding scooters is part of the norm in hopes of filling a void and attracting stores to carry their brand. In the US market the choice will be between what was and GoGo Gear a new entrant. GoGo Gear hits the stores in January, so you’ll have to wait till after the Holidays but it will be worth the wait.
