Company/Designer:  Amaloa Accessories/Amaloa Bonvecchio

How did you get started?

I graduated as a Fashion Designer in Caracas, Venezuela in 1992 and since then I’ve being enjoying the fashion industry in different ways. I love stones, their energy and vibes. I love exotic elements I love nature! I believe accessories are an important key to creating an outfit. You can give life to a look just with the use of the perfect accessory. All this together led me to create Amaloa Accessories.

Why did you join Noblivity®?

Because I believe it is a great concept! It’s seems to be beneficial to both designer and buyer. For the designers, it’s a show-room/trade show online available 24/7, no monthly fees, no travel expenses or show fee. I trust they have an incredible and professional team necessary to make this beautiful concept successful! For the buyers, it is very convenient.. they can find excellent lines without the expenses of the trade-shows with all of Noblivity’s services and at better prices!

How would you describe your design style, design signature and who is your targeted customer?

Amaloa Accessories is a very unique accessories line, hand-created with love, creativity and inspiration, featuring an exquisite selection of natural materials such as semi-precious stones, woods, bones, feathers, flowers, tusks, horns, leather, skins and more. My ideal customer is someone with a taste for difference, love for uniqueness and has an affair with creativity.

What inspires you?

Nature, art, colors, life…

What obstacles did you have to overcome to get to where you are?

So much interference along the way in life … I experienced many difficult obstacles that made me stronger, made me grow up and find myself as a creative, business woman who loves what I do and do it with confidence and passion.

How did you overcome the obstacles along the way?

With perseverance, patience, trust in my ideas and confidence!

What has been your greatest moment on your journey so far?

My daughter’s birth was the greatest moment in my life. With respect to my career, when I won the Tiffany Jewelry Design Award for Best Jewelry Designer of the year in Miami Fashion Week 2009. My legs were shaking so bad that I thought I was not going to be able to walk on stage to receive the award. Other gratifying moments are when I see the happy faces of my customers when they receive the pieces. Also, every time a jury approves my line for a very special show, project or concept! And when people truly appreciate for my work. I’m very thankful for all this and more.

What has been the biggest change in your designs so far?

Being appreciated and well accepted in up-scale boutiques, shows and magazines around the US, South America and Europe.

What’s next for your brand?

Success! To harvest the fruits of a long and well-done journey!

If money were no object what would you do right now to promote your brand?

Trade shows and fashion shows all around the world… New York, Las Vegas, Paris, Milano…

What are the best and worst things about bringing a product to market?

The best thing is that I can share my ideas with the world. The worst is: they are not my babies any more.

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

I will keep doing exactly what I’m doing…

What is your philosophy of life?

To be flexible.. Life is too difficult and changeable. We need to be ready for turns: right or left, up or down, if necessary. We need to accept that there are many different ways to do things besides the ones we want and always be ready for plan B .. but to never give up!

Love and appreciate what you already have and work for it instead of looking for what you can’t have and complain about it!

Patience!

If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?

I would be more careful in trusting just the right proposals and the right people. I would be more confident from the beginning, trusting my ideas and feelings from day one. I would speak my mind more often. I would focus in the wholesale market first!

When will you know you have made it?

When I see my collection in numerous boutiques around the country and the world!!
