Small Business Continues to Drive in the Employment Index

By Editor in Chief | Monday January 10th, 2011 | 08:00 am | Comments

Small business Employment Index report recently released shows small business is still the most vigorous sector of the employment picture even though compensation remains flat while hours worked are on the rise.

Small Business Trends says;  the average business generates over $1.1 million in sales, has more than 4 employees and pays an average compensation of over $41,000.

According to Small Business Labs, small business is pulling out of the recession. More small businesses will find ways to limit fixed costs, such as inventory. Staying fluid will impact cash flow and agility.  Facebook will be a key driver to getting more small businesses using social media. Social media is still young and small businesses are time-sensitive so an obvious and immediate result must present for more to engage.  New online platforms are emerging giving small manufacturers alternate channels to find, sell and support customers.
