How did you get started? Always loved design and handbags!
What inspires your designs? Travels, experiencing other cultures are my biggest inspiration. I love visiting other countries, where people are not afraid to try new things, and I always find inspiration walking down the streets.
How would you describe your design style, design signatures and who is your targeted customer? Bohemian and stylist at the same time, women from 25 to 55
What designers inspire you? Don’t have a particular one, I like different things from different designers
What obstacles did you have to overcome? Overseas production, as we like the products to be made in Uruguay (where I am from) to support our craftsmen, it’s not easy to work long distance and can’t be there all the time
How did you overcome them? Visiting every couple of months, as much as I can, and finding a good team which I trust and I’m comfortable working with
What has been your greatest moment on your journey so far? Seeing the reaction of the audience
What has been the biggest change in your designs so far? I started with mostly leather with hair, and now, moving on into only details with them
If money were no object what would you do right now? Working full time for LUMA! (Unfortunately still have a “day job”)
What are the best and worst things about being a designer? You get to make what you create, can’t think of the worst
Describe your typical day? Wake up early, check luma’s emails, go to my day job, looking forward to came home to work on luma
What’s your philosophy of life? Be happy and follow your dreams
If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? Nothing
When will you know you have made it? Hopefully soon!
