The GoGo Gear Scooter Girls Collection is now available at The MarketPlace Noblivity.com

When we saw this line we looked at each other and at the same time said, “Why did it take so long”? in perfect harmony.  Singers we’re not but style finders, now that’s what we do or at least we like to think so.  Stylish motorcycle apparel for women that ride that has all the safety features a biker/rider would want in bike gear.   What do you think of when you hear the term ‘biker gear’ or the term ‘scooter gear’?   Whatever your thoughts were, Los Angeles-based Scooter Girls, Inc., will change them and give you a whole  new fashion paradigm.  Emerging designer  Arlene Battishill has it hit it out of the park with the introduction of her emerging fashion brand GoGo Gear.  The form fitting waterproof coats have a sexy European look with a creative button pattern, tailored collar, cuffs and belt styles.  The safety features include abrasion-resistant fabric, armor protection in the elbows, back and shoulders, and reflective collars.  The coats have a glamorous sophistication all their own that we have not seen in this niche market.  They are showing in London and Milan in the European market where riding scooters is part of the norm in hopes of filling a void and attracting stores to carry their brand.  In the US market the choice will be between what was and GoGo Gear a new entrant.   GoGo Gear hits the stores in January, so you’ll have to wait till after the Holidays but it will be worth the wait.

Thank God for GoGo Gear, riding my Ducati in Worcester, MA in 35 degrees weather, staying warm and in style. No more leather and jackets cut for men. Finally, I am warm and comfortable in layers as I ride the Ducati to work.

When will this gear become available?!!? I’m SOOO glad someone designed some jackets that a woman can wear and still look like a stylish woman!! It’s about freaking time! My scooters and my sense of fashion thank you!!

Thank you all for your comments. Miss Sinatra, is that really YOU?! If it is, thank you for your compliments about our coats! As for the GoGo name, it actually ties back to our logo which is “Go” and if you look closely at the logo, you will see that it is actually an arrow that is going 360 degrees around and the little “o” is actually the degree sign. We have part of our line which is called “360″ which is our reversible reflective wear for high visibility when riding. When playing with the graphics, we put the Go’s together and added the word “Gear” which is a reference to motorcycle clothing and all of a sudden it became “GoGo Gear”! Because it has appeal to scooter riders, there is of course the reference to the 60s and it all ties together! If you are in LA, we would love to have you come and see the coats at Vespa Sherman Oaks, Saturday, November 21, from 4-8pm. It’s on Ventura Blvd! Miss Sinatra, is that REALLY you?!!!

I love the name. The styles are “mod” and it is gear, so I think it is very clever. Love the alliteration. I look forward to this. One complaint I have is that I sometimes want a jacket that is a little dressier, and I do not want motorcycle jackets. Hope to see them in LA in a few weeks.

  5. Nancy Sinatra says:

What the hell is Gogo? Sounds like a throwback to the 60′s. Might has well use Twiggie in gogo boots as your model.

You have beautiful stuff, but you need to ditch that name

As the inventor of GoGo Gear, protective riding gear for women, I took great pains to ensure that the armor we put in this gear was robust. In fact, I witnessed the actual impact testing of the armor I selected relative to some other recognizeable brands and based on the results, selected the armor that is in GoGo Gear. It is similar in shape and style to the KNOX brand. It is CE approved, EN1621-1 for the elbow and shoulders and EN1621-2 for the back. I would never dream of calling something” gear” if I weren’t absolutely confident in the armor. This is the armor I prefer when I ride so that’s what’s in GoGo Gear. Also, one of the marvels of the engineering of these coats is that the armor and abrasion resistant fabric “disappear” and that was the whole point… make great looking jackets and coats and engineer them in such a way that no one knows you’re wearing gear. Because we’ve been so conditioned to look at gear in only one way, meaning big and bulky for women, it is hard for people to believe that this is “real” gear, but it definitely is!!! Safety never looked so GoGo Good!

I’m worried this gears armor. Is it CE approved? Might look good, but if the armor is crap, why bother.
